FAQs

What does your recruitment process involve?

The process may vary slightly but generally you can expect it to be as follows:

  • Application: we will normally ask you to apply online using the website. You can also read the full details of the job description online. Make sure to provide us with the most relevant information you can.
  • Shortlisting: this is used to decide if you meet the key criteria for the role. To help us do this, it is important that you detail your relevant skills on your application and make sure you include all relevant jobs you have had.
  • Testing: we usually carry out a job test to check your skills for the role. This could be a telephone test for a job on the phone, or an email test for written skills.
  • Interview: we will carry out at least one interview to ensure that you have the key skills for the role and to give you an opportunity to tell us all about your previous experience
  • References: we contact previous employers to get information on your past performance

What should I wear to work?

Our dress code is smart/casual, which means jeans, trainers and t-shirts – as long as your overall appearance is smart. People who meet with clients or attend meetings outside gem should wear more business-like clothes such as suits or shirt and skirt/trousers.

What is the workplace like?

Our offices are a spacious, open plan layout with a number of coffee docks throughout, for informal meetings and relaxation. You can catch up with friends during breaks and at lunchtime in ‘bar gem’. It has a bright purple pool table, comfortable seating and PCs for internet surfing during breaks, all of which staff voted to have.
